Native Grasslands on the Victorian Volcanic Plains
The Victorian Volcanic Plains project is offering extension staff (River Health, Weeds, Landcare, Environment Officers etc) the opportunity to participate in a training day on native grasslands and their management.
When: Please select to attend on either the 31st October or the 1st November, 2006.
Time: 9:00 - 4:30
Where: Lismore Golf Club, Hamilton Highway
Cost: FREE
Course outline:
- Introduction and outline of training;
- Introduction to biodiversity values and benefits from grasslands;
- Introduction to common grassland genera;
- Management of native grasslands;
- Management of native grasslands using farming practices;
- Identification of grassland species brought in by participants;
- Field inspection of common grassland genera; and,
- Field inspection and management discussions.
Duration: 1 Day
